Bio

Beginning his first year as an assistant cross country and track and field coach at the College of Charleston is Chad Williams.

Williams, a member of The College of New Jersey track and field team from 2000-2004, was a three time All-American in the decathlon and the ECAC Field Athlete of the Week in 2002.  He holds the school record in the decathlon and in both indoor and outdoor hurdle relay.

Prior to this season, Williams spent two years as a graduate assistant jumps coach at Southeast Missouri State University.  During his tenure, he coached three Ohio Valley Conference Champions, 10 top three conference finishers, four regional qualifiers, one national indoor qualifier and helped 10 student-athletes reach their lifetime bests.

In 2005 he served as the sprint, hurdles, jumps, and javelin coach at Rancocas Valley Regional High School.  While there, he coached Rancocas sprint-medley relay to a sixth-place finish nationally.  This ranking earned the team All-American honors.  He also was a volunteer hurdle assistant for Seneca High School in 2003-2004.

A native of New Jersey, Williams is most recently a graduate of Southeast Missouri State with a master’s degree in Athletic Administration.  He also earned with a dual degree in elementary education and math from The College of New Jersey in 2004.
